Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology supplied the full electrical package for the Tasman from the Scheepswerf Royal Bodewes yard, including engineering, switchboards and bridge consuls. Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology also provided the shaft generator, bowthruster drives, bowthruster engines and fire detection systems. Sister company Marble Automation supplied the alarm and monitoring systems.
Tasman is the second of seven vessels of the type Bodewes Trader ‘Dry Cargo’. The vessels vary in length from 80 to 100 metres and have a DWT of around 5,000 tonnes.
