The „Arctic Rock, a M2 Runner type, is delivered to the owner in April 2014. Hartman Marine Group BV has developed, in close cooperation with Vuyk Engineering Groningen and Conoship, a brand new concept named Hartman M2Runner.
Typically, this vessel has a a asymmetrical wheel house and accomodation, which enables the vessel to also load odd and long sizes. Our scope consists of the building of the complete hull (based on Centraalstaal building kit) including installment of the steering gear, rudder stock, rudder, propeller and propshaft, steel outfitting, piping and a complete paint program.
The profound relationship between Hartman Marine Group and Shipkits was already strenghtened, since the Hartman’s “Deo Valente” (casco+ built by Shipkits) was honored with the “2007 Ship of the Year Award”. Besides the ‘Deo Valente’, Shipkits has also build ‘Eendracht’, ‘Pacific Dawn’ and ‘Atlantic’.
The Hartman M2Runner is able to carry more than 80% more windmills and equipment than any other ‘coaster’ of 3500 dwt. ‘You need floor surface and volume instead of dwt’, says Mr. Johan Hartman of the Hartman Marine Group. ‘This vessel can carry the same volumes as a 6.000 tonner, but with the daily costs of a 3.000 tonner’.
