August 29th, 2018: Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has successfully completed our refit activities on the super-sailyacht G2, a project which took place at the Pendennis Shipyard in Falmouth, UK. The 29-metre custom-built yacht was initially built to a design by Tripp Design at Vitters Shipyard under the name Cinderella IV in 2009.
Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology was responsible for an upgrade of the main switchboard including an update of the automation & control system and the development and installation of a new shore converter. The main switchboard activities included installing the latest synchronisation equipment to ensure well-organised controls and better management and reading of the generators. The new units can now be read and programmed remotely, increasing the service options. We also combined several busbars into one unit, further simplifying the system and creating a clearer overview for the crew.
In partnership with our sister company Marble Automation we thoroughly tested the alarm and monitoring system on G2, reorganised the pages and added the latest software. In addition, we integrated the shore converter, new power management and reading of the night mode in the AMS and reorganised it in accordance with the client’s wishes.
