26 october 2016: Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology recently successfully completed work on the 33-metre sailing yacht Missy by Vitters Shipyard. The company took care of the entire electrical system, which was designed and built in close consultation with the project team at Vitters Shipyard. Piet Brouwer subsidiary Marble Automation fitted the alarm and monitoring system, which was programmed in-house.
The yacht, designed by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design, was built as a performance cruising yacht and is equally ideal for comfortable cruising as she is racing. To enhance her speed, the yacht was given a hull in lightweight carbon fibre composite built by Green Marine, a subsidiary of Vitters in Southampton. When bating to windward and in shallower waters, she can pull up her keel.
Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has been one of Vitters Shipyard’s regular subcontractors for many years. Through the years, Piet Brouwer has provided yachts such as Espiritu el Xarey, Drumbeg, Ghost, Mystère, Cinderella IV and Sarissa with high-quality systems at the yard’s facilities in Zwartsluis (NL). Piet Brouwer recently received another order from Vitters Shipyard for the design and construction of the comprehensive electrical system for a 32.50-metre new build. Marble Automation will again provide a custom-built alarm and monitoring system.
