Walking through the service port in Urk it’s impossible to miss the giant and strikingly blue cargo vessel. Hartman Seatrade’s Polar Rock 19, built by Neptune Shipyards, has been attracting a hive of activity since arriving in the port in late August. Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology is responsible for the design and installation of the entire electrical installation: from making the various distribution boxes for the panels to installing cables and commissioning the various systems. A unique feature of the vessel are the two wings on the stern designed to create more deck space. These enable Polar Rock 19 to transport larger amounts of cargo while maintaining the same fuel consumption.
