The first stone of the new building for fish processing plant Visscher Seafood Urk was laid on 13 January 2014. From the outset, Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology planned how to create the best and most complete, well-functioning and practical solution possible for the entire site. The system was delivered February 2015.
In order to boost its capacity for future needs, Visscher Seafood opted to expand and renovate the building in which it had been located for three decades. The upgraded facility is built with an eye on the future, with materials and equipment chosen accordingly. A new main distribution and four distribution boards are installed throughout the building, and take care of the power supply and switching for the entire system.
LED lighting, selected for its long lifespan and low power consumption, was installed throughout the site. The production areas were outfitted with waterproof mounted luminaires, and the offices with downlights and light lines. Furthermore, several motion detectors were installed to ensure that lights do not remain turned on unnecessarily. A switch was fitted at the exit of the building to allow the lighting on site to be easily turned off and switched to the night state. The lighting in the new production hall is controlled centrally via a Marble touchscreen.
The design of the office is open and characterised by lots of glass walls. In order to not compromise this effect, the connections for the workstations were concealed under floor hatches. Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology also provided the sound system for the entire site. The system is separated into two zones, so that the operations hall and the office segment can be managed separately. The sound system allows for messages to be broadcast or music played, for instance.
For security purposes, Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology installed a system of four cameras on the outer façades. An internet connection allows the camera images to be monitored via computer or telephone at all times.
To summarise, Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology installed the electrical system, lighting and emergency lighting, sound system, intercom and camera system for the renovated site of Visscher Seafood. Together with Schuurman Techniek, Brouwer also integrated the security, fire alarm and data system with cables, outlets, patch boxes and patch panels.
Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology would like to thank the consultancy DENC, the technical manager of Visscher Seafood Frits Brouwer, and the various subcontractors involved in this excellent project.
