November 27, 2020: Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has been commissioned by Royal Huisman Shipyard to design, deliver and install the complete electrotechnical system on board Project 405.
This 46-metre sailyacht is being built for highly experienced owners and is designed to combine the best of both worlds: ultimate comfort to explore the world and an extremely lightweight aluminium and carbon composite construction to ensure victories in superyacht regattas. Project 405 is due for delivery in 2022.
This exciting assignment follows on from Project 404, where Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology is also responsible for the design, delivery and installation of the complete electrotechnical system. This 60-metre all-aluminium high performance sailyacht with carbon composite superstructure is being built under Lloyd’s register and MCA classification and is also due for completion in 2022.
The project that marked the start of the anticipated long-term cooperation between Royal Huisman and Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology was Project 403, also known as Project Phi. Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology is designing and installing the complete electrotechnical system for this 55-metre+ motoryacht as well.
Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology is delighted to be working with a premium yard such as Royal Huisman. “These assignments are a fine addition to our portfolio,” says Piet Roskam, sales manager at Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology. “Royal Huisman has been building the best and most beautiful yachts for over a century and our engineers feel very much at home in such an environment. Moreover, the yard in Vollenhove is located near to our head office in Urk. In times of globalisation and projects that involve ever greater distances, this close proximity is a bonus that allows us to meet the wishes of the client even more flexibly than usual.”
