February 18th 2014: Drettmann Yachts from Germany has ordered the construction of a 24-metre explorer motoryacht from Acico Yachts in the Netherlands. This is the first time Drettmann Yachts has commissioned a project in the Netherlands. The yacht is being built for a German owner who will be closely involved in the entire construction.
The explorer yacht was designed by Drettmann Yachts and Focus Yacht Design. A unique feature is her diesel-electric POD drive propulsion system, which allows for a top speed of thirteen knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology was commissioned by Drettmann and Acico Yachts to design and build the entire electrical system and various alert systems. This will take place at our facilities in Enkhuizen in cooperation with our subsidiary Marble Automation.
