October 25, 2021: Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology is currently busy in the harbour on Urk installing the electrical systems on MV Celtic, the latest Ro/Ro vessel from Hartman Marine Shipbuilding. The ship has a length of 108 metres, a beam of 16 metres and a weight of 4600 tonnes. MV Celtic is identical to MV Baltic – only 15 metres longer and one metre wider – and suitable for transporting the latest generation of wind turbine blades.
MV Celtic is the twelfth vessel completed in Urk by Hartman Marine. Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has been involved with the construction of the unique Hartman vessels since hull number 001, the heavy-lifter MV Deo Volente.
The delivery of MV Celtic is expected for the end of November.
