Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology delivers SY Seljm

Novermber 26, 2020: Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology successfully replaced the main switchboard and distribution panels on the wooden sailing yacht Seljm. This classic beauty was built in 1980 by the Italian shipyard Sangermani to a design by Anselmo Boretti. She has a Lloyd’s 100 +A1 LMC classification.

The new main switchboard has been designed entirely on Urk and was approved by Lloyd’s Register before transport to Palma de Mallorca. Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has chosen to build the switchboard with the Cubic A/S modular system in order to make the most of the available space. One of the challenges was to redesign everything to correspond to the current situation without access to the original drawings, and to build the panel in a way that permitted it to be brought onto the yacht via the normal entrances, without major work on the wooden hull or deck.
