1 August, 2019: Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology receives order for refit of Twinrigger trawler
The shipping company Stella Polaris from Urk has once again opted for Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology as a partner. The latest project involves an extensive renovation of its Urker Purse-Seiner/ Twinrigger UK-22. The two companies have long worked together on new projects and refits, as well as service and maintenance work, and Stella Polaris’s owner Pauw Romkes is a familiar face at Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology.
The refit of the UK-22 will involve an extension of the hull, with part of the machines and equipment being reused. The hull is expected to be emptied in late 2019 and rebuilt at the beginning of 2020. The accommodations and wheelhouse will be completely remade and provided with cables and connections in advance so as to ensure the shortest possible construction period. Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology will take care of the full electrical system & engineering, as well as the design, panel construction, installation and commissioning. The delivered products will include a Marble Automation alarm system, an LED lighting package and a fire detection system. The UK-22 follows a string of new builds, including the UK-24, HD-42, ZK-5, TX-65, SC-10, UK-150 and UK-153, among others. Stella Polaris is proud of these impressive projects, each of which has called on Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology’s wide-ranging know-how and experience.
